This year’s Guyana Model Search / Stylist / Designer Portfolio promises to be a competitive six week reality series which will focus on fashion design and styling according to Sonia Noel. The show will feature innovative challenges with ingenious assignments in print, commercial and runway modeling.
Participants will surely experience real-life modeling go-sees and jobs as well as upgrading their skills through intensive workshops. This year’s production will assume new proportions all devised to excite and fascinate the participant and viewers alike. Television viewers can look forward to a modern theatrical showcase pushing the envelope and captivating local fashionistas says Sonia Noel.
Auditions for both models and stylist/designers are scheduled from the 24th -26th May 2009 in Georgetown, Linden, Bartica and Berbice. Designers are expected to bring along their sketches and pictures of outfits they have styled as an additional critera for consideration. The reality series will be aired on Channel 11 NCN and Channel 72 HJTV with a rebroadcast during the week for those who missed it. Caribbean Broadcast Network (BVI) has also partnered with this venture and intends to give Ms.Noel the fullest support to ensure that her Production becomes a golden success. As such, Ms.Noel's productions will be televised throughout the British Virgin Islands on CBN-TV (Channel 51); they will be carried by the Info Channel on the Island of Nevis, KCN on the island of Anguilla as well as Carib V Television in Jamaica.

Guyana Model Search / Stylist / Designer Portfolio 2009 finals is slated for the 5th July 2009 and the winners will secure top prizes which include 2 Magazine Covers (Apsara & Guyana Fashion Week) , 2 Caribbean Magazines Spread/Feature (GEM & TALK), Professional Fashion Portfolio, Overseas Modeling Experience, Designers’ Wardrobe, Jewelry, Cover Model Campaign and Appearances at Guyana Fashion Weekend 2009.
The stylist/designers Portfolio winners will also have the opportunity for their collections to be used for the photo shots for magazines and earn themselves automatic selection for Guyana Fashion Weekend 2009. It doesn’t end there; winners will also participate meaningfully at a Fashion Week in the Caribbean and gain apprenticeship at Mariska’s Designs by Sonia Noel.
Stylist Designer Portfolio 2009 is truly aimed at educating budding designers/stylists about what it takes to become a professional designer in the Caribbean and International Fashion Diaspora and participants will certainly leave with memories to last a lifetime.
